Personally, I’d rather listen to a book on CD!

After viewing the following video (you’ll recognize some of it), please, explain whether you agree or disagree with the concepts in the film. Then, identify one thing (or more) that you could do in your classroom with technology that might benefit your students (and you).Link: http://www.teachertube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=9c47d431c043b24056f4

Blogging and You

Posted in Web 2.0 tagged , , , at 1:33 pm by

To be honest, blogging is not something that I have done a bunch of so far. Like you, I am busy with a career that demands a lot of me, a wife who is also an administrator, a daughter who plays in two symphony orchestras, board memberships in 2 statewide organizations, and 25 grad students who want answers and tips. I don’t have time to share my thoughts and ideas on a regular basis. But, that is not to say that isn’t valuable, because I know that anhehing that adds to my skill set as an educator is a good thing. And, since we’re talking web 2.0, it is one of the major components of sharing ideas within social and educational networks.

I’d like to share a great example of a blog that has been taken to the max. It’s by Will Richardson. I won’t bother to explain who he is because if you visit his site, you can read his bio. Will has created a space that is all-encompassing.

But you don’t need to go that far to connect with your peers–local and global–and your students. For example, here is a website that has an extraordinary number of educational blogs on a variety of topics. Please, take some time and check out a few of the sites.

In order to kick off this discussion, I’d like you to watch the following video from TeacherTube.com and then come back and leave a comment on this page regarding a question that I will ask in just a bit.

First, here’s the video link. Now, please, realize that you are able to click in the comment box below and make a comment about the question I’m about to ask or reply to something that someone else has said that has got you thinking. The idea here is collaborate on an exchange of ideas.

Here’s the question: What do you think educational interaction among teachers and students will look like in 2018–ten years from now?

By the way, your comments will potentially only show up after I have allowed them in. We’ll see how this blog works!
